DOHA, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Qatar's Ministry of Defense said on Sunday that a commercial cargo vessel in the country's territorial waters northeast of Mesaieed Port was targeted by a drone attack.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the vessel, which was arriving from Abu Dhabi, caught fire after being struck on Sunday morning.
The Ministry said the incident caused a limited fire onboard the vessel, with no injuries reported.
The fire was brought under control, and the vessel proceeded to Mesaieed Port after necessary measures were coordinated with authorities, it said.
