Qatar resumes foreign airlines' operations via Hamad int'l airport

DOHA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) announced on Monday that foreign airlines have begun a gradual resumption of operations in Qatar via Hamad International Airport.

In a statement, the QCAA said the decision followed a comprehensive assessment conducted in coordination with relevant national entities to ensure operational readiness and efficiency.

It affirmed that all flights and related operations will be carried out in accordance with internationally-recognized safety and security standards, with necessary measures in place to safeguard passengers and aviation personnel.

Qatar closed its airspace on Feb. 28 after being affected by the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
