PanARMENIAN.Net - Ten Armenian citizens were transported free of charge from Qatar to Oman on March 12 through an initiative organized by Armenia's embassy in Doha, Armenia's Foreign Ministry reported.
The relocation opportunity was used by 10 people, including elderly citizens and individuals with health problems.
All Armenian citizens staying in Qatar had been informed in advance about the initiative.
Armenia's embassy in Doha continues to maintain daily contact with Armenian citizens in the State of Qatar and provides assistance to them whenever possible.
The embassy has already organized two meetings with Armenian citizens with the participation of Ambassador Tigran Gevorgyan. Following discussions and an assessment of their needs, the Foreign Ministry decided to secure Saudi Arabian entry visas for all Armenian citizens currently in Qatar. The visas were issued through joint efforts by the ministry and the embassy.
Gevorgyan personally accompanied the Armenian citizens to the Saudi Arabian border.
Entry visas to Saudi Arabia were also secured for the Armenia men's artistic gymnastics national team currently in Qatar in order to arrange their return to Armenia.
On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes on Iran, during which Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed. Iran responded with strikes toward Israel and Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.
