HONG KONG, May 6 (Xinhua) -- John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said on Tuesday he will lead a delegation on a visit to Qatar and Kuwait from Saturday to foster cooperation with the two countries.
Lee said he will meet with government officials of the two countries and visit local firms along with the delegation to learn about the latest developments in finance, trade, technology and other aspects of the two Middle East economies.
The delegation comprises HKSAR government officials and over 50 representatives of businesses of the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.
Lee hoped the visit will help strengthen Hong Kong's global connections and showcase supply chain services made possible by collaboration between mainland tech firms and Hong Kong's financial and professional services sectors.
This will be Lee's second tour to the Middle East as the HKSAR chief executive.
