NINGBO, China, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- After winning the men's beach volleyball gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games, Qatar's Cherif Samba and Ahmed Janko have eyed a new height to get medal in a different color at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The Qatari pair defeated China's Abuduhalikejiang Mutailipu and Wu Jiaxin 22-20, 21-16 on Thursday at the Ningbo Banbianshan Beach Volleyball Center.

"It wasn't an easy final," Samba admitted after the match. "The first set was not easy because China was fighting as they played at home."

Samba and Janko, who took bronze at the Tokyo Olympic Games, hope for a different result in Paris next year.

"We are going to do our best, but (it) may be a different color this time," said Samba.

"Next week we are going to the World Championships, which is also a very big challenge for us, but we are already working on it and get more Olympic points," he added.
